Megali Ammos : this is the closest beach to Chora . It is a 15-minute walk from Place de Moulins .
Ornos : charming summer resort, located southwest of Mykonos , 3 km from Chora . Large sandy beach, with many restaurants along the edge. Resort recommended for families . There is an important tourist infrastructure: hotels and rentals, supermarkets, pharmacy, car and two-wheel rental companies. Regular bus service from Chora . Good anchorage for sailboats and at the left end of the beach, small fishing port. Taxi boat service serving nearby beaches such as Psarou , Platy Gialos , Paranga , Paradise and Super Paradise .
Agios Ioannis : beautiful sandy beach, located southwest of Mykonos , facing the island of Delos , 4 km from Chora . This is where the film “Shirley Valentine” was filmed in the 1980s. There are deckchairs and parasols, a few restaurants located directly on the beach and a succession of beautiful coves as well as rentals and hotels scattered across the hills.
Platy Gialos : 4.5 km from Chora , in the south of the island. It is one of the most tourist resorts in Mykonos . Suitable for families . Important tourist infrastructure (hotels and rentals). Regular bus service to Chora . Taxi boat service to the beaches of Paranga , Super Paradise , Agrari and Elia etc. Close to the beautiful beach of Psarou which can be reached on foot.
Paranga : south of Mykonos , 6 km from Chora in a picturesque setting, succession of sandy coves, with crystal clear waters, partly equipped with deckchairs and parasols, 15 minutes walk from Platy Gialos and very close to the famous beach of Paradise which can be reached on foot via a path. Taverns, bars, camping, rentals and hotels. Bus service to Chora and taxi boats for other beaches. Suitable for young people and families .
Paradise and Super Paradise : south of Mykonos , 6 km and 8 km from Chora . Sandy beaches with entertainment and evenings with international DJs. These are the most people-fiesta-have-you-seen beaches in Mykonos ! Suitable for those who want to party . Bus service to Chora and taxi boats for other beaches. Panormos : long sandy beach with dunes, north of Mykonos , 7 km from Chora , located on the eastern side of the deep bay of Panormos . Some hotels, rentals and taverns. Fairly select beach club. Imperative means of transport .
Agios Sostis : north of Mykonos , 8.5 km from Chora , located on the eastern side of the deep bay of Panormos , 1.5 km from Panormos beach.
