Paros: A Top Destination for Kite & Windsurfing Paros is a world-renowned hub for kite and windsurfing, particularly the Pounta beach stretch between Paros and Antiparos. The area’s favorable winds, especially the summer ‘meltemia’, and sea currents make it a magnet for water sports enthusiasts globally. From April, weather permitting, Pounta’s skies are adorned with vibrant sails and avid athletes.

The world kite surfing championship is held in Pounta, which also hosts certified schools for learning and supporting this sport. Kite surf centers in Pounta offer schools, accommodation, and rental equipment.
